Tim Hudak Lost

We’ve had some time to think about why Tim Hudak lost the Ontario election and there are some interesting observations to be made.

The first observation comes from high-profile Conservative blogger Stephen Taylor who lays out the reasons many good reasons for the Ontario Conservative failure. Hudak failed to offer any change except for chain gangs in the streets. He also says “that foreign workers something something bad something something! Or that Premier Tim was going to reverse Premier Dad’s move to educate our kids about “the gays”.”

The blog Canadian Lemon had this to say about Tim Hudak’s epic failure: Leaving aside the immigrant and gay bashing that he opened and closed his campaign…  Hudak’s message was empty.

Charles Pascal wrote in the Toronto Star about Tim Hudak’s Southern US style Tea Party tactics saying “I want no part of extremism and gross misrepresentation of evidence and facts.  I want no part of Hudak’s attempt to play to the worst of the human condition.”

Martin Regg Cohn of the Toronto Star said of Tim Hudak’s Ontario Conservative loss: a year after Rob Ford won Toronto’s mayoralty promising tax cuts without service cuts, local voters weren’t buying Hudak’s anti-tax sound bites and simplistic slogans.

The James Bow blog said of Tim Hudak’s Very Disappointing Performance and homophobic pamphlets: the Conservative Party of Ontario should be ashamed of itself, to have stooped to such misleading levels using children for their political gain.

Hudak’s failure has the Toronto Sun asking a very important question; can Tim Hudak hold on to the Progressive Conservative leadership?

The blog Not Quite Unhinged says of the Ontario Conservative defeat, Tim Hudak opened his mouth and an ugly little troll fell out when he called immigrants foreigners.

All of this has led reporters, like Adam Radwanski from the Globe and Mail, to question since, Hudak is unable to change, what’s the point?
