The NDP and protesting go together like a rash and an itch – they were meant for each other.

What happens when you’ve got ideas no one supports but feel like you know better than everyone else? You’ve got to force your ideas on the people through violent revolution and protest. We can learn lessons about the NDP’s love of protest from their socialist government allies around the world.

Professional Greek Socialist Protesters

It was clear that the socialist regime of Greek Prime Minister George Papandreou was in trouble. Much like Andrea Horwath, Papandreou mislead people telling them governments could keep subsiding things like gasoline, making it cheaper for SUVs, and that this government cash giveaway would not hurt the countries finances. The Greek socialist political party spent years looking after their own political desire for power by encouraging, often violent, protest. When it came time for the country to save itself, the protests were something the socialists could no longer control and the streets were set on fire.

Socialist Forefathers

Where have we seen revolution and protest in the name of the people misused for socialist political gain? We could point to the USSR under Joseph Stalin, the People’s Republic of China under Mao Zedong, and Cambodia under the Khmer Rouge. We need to learn from these horrible points in history. Not repeat them.

So what is the Occupy Toronto movement? NDP MP Olivia Chow has been camped at occupy rallying the troops. Meanwhile, Andrea Horwath is comparing Occupy Toronto with the overthrow of Hosni Mubarak in Egypt and other Mideast despot governments. Horwath didn’t win the election. In fact, many aspects of the Ontario NDP election were a failure. But now she’s supporting a violent revolution against Ontario and Canada’s democracy?

NDP Black Block Goals Aligned

Do the Occupy people even know what the NDP would like to force them into? Reports have said the Occupy message is fuzzy at best. But what does seem to come through is the dark underbelly of drug sales and usage in these camps. Some have suggested that these camps are training grounds for the Black Block a group of professional protesters. This dark group has no problems using violence to bring about revolution. And not surprisingly, their goals align closely with those of Andrea Horwath and the Ontario NDP.

Is this a real NDP socialist revolution? If vast numbers of voters are so outraged, how come they didn’t crawl out of their sleeping bags long enough to vote the NDP into power?
